Goodbye 2014

Goodbye!           Farewell!
Au Revoir!          Adios!
Ciao!                   Aloha!

There are just no words to help explain 2014. The best explanation would be: The year that if it can go wrong, it will go wrong

A summary of 2014:
- We did not go one month without someone in the family visiting to medical provider. Hubby rang in the year with dental issues and the kids rang out the year with strep throat for Christmas.

- In 2014, I experienced my first throat abscess, my first case of walking pneumonia, my first bladder infection (7 weeks of misery), my first ovarian cyst, various feet problems (including my first stress fracture, my first neuroma), and a messed up knee. 2014 is the sickest and most injured that I have been in my entire life. I had the pleasure of numerous types of testing: xrays (4 times), CT scan (2 times), MRI scan (2 times), CAT scan, PET scan, and lymph node biopsy. The only type of testing that I had experienced prior to 2014 were xrays. After all the testing, I do not have cancer (thank you doctors for turning my life upside down for a few months).

- Princess excelled at swim lessons over the summer. She started primary school and loves it. After seeing a specialist this fall, Princess does not have any underlining causes for her vision problems. Yay! Back to our regularly scheduled 6 month appointment routine.

- 2014 was the year of Pumpkin- We traversed the bumps/trenches/valleys of special ed, got diagnosed with HFA and SPD, spent a lot of time conversing with school (they have thankful been very accommodating), experimented with medicine, and juggled relearning how to deal with daily life. I feel like I am learning a foreign language at times, not successful I might add. Pumpkin wrote a great robot story for school. Pumpkin lost his first 2 teeth this past summer.

- Even though it has been a rocky year, we did have many blessings. We had a wonderful family watch the kids over the summer. My sister did some painting projects for us. We roasted marshmallows and hot dogs.

So Long 2014! You will not be missed!

Hello 2015! Please be more kind than your predecessor!

My wish for 2015 for all those that read this post:

May the road rise up to meet you,
may the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall softly on your fields.
And until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
~ Irish Blessing ~
